Our Services
Womanline has evolved over the years, relinquishing some of the earlier aspects of our mission to other organizations, while adapting to meet emerging needs of women. We believe a woman's mental health is as important as her physical health, and that women should be able to obtain affordable help for emotional problems. For these reasons, we now focus our resources on helping women who want to make changes to improve the quality of their lives.
Many of the women we see in counseling were sexually abused as children. While we could go on exclusively working with survivors, we strongly believe our community needs to take the steps to protect children from abuse. Unless we stop sexual abuse, the victims will become the women who seek our help ten or twenty years from now.
Counseling
Our counseling services are available to any woman, regardless of her ability to pay. We employ only trained and licensed therapists with many years of experience working with women, especially survivors of sex abuse. I Can Tell
For sixteen years we have been taking an important message to grade school children, "you can tell." This thirty minute program teaches young children how to protect themselves from sexual abuse. To learn more, click here or on the I Can Tell command at the bottom of the page.
Young Women Leaders
Although not a client service, the Young Women Leaders award was created in 2008 because we believe the future of our community will be in the hands of young women who are now just developing their leadership skills. We wished to recognize what these young women have been doing and encourage other women to follow them. To learn more about the Award, click here or the Young Women Leaders link below.
