Pathway to Health

Long after the trauma of childhood sexual abuse, victims continue to struggle with its life-changing effects. Although the nature and intensity of the effects vary for each woman, victims of abuse may continue for years to experience emotional social, physical, and behavioral problems.

What can I expect from a Pathway group?

A group includes six to eight women and a trained therapist. Although each person in the group brings her own unique experiences and perspectives, each group develops its own character and sense of community. This community continues to grow as members share with others, give and receive feedback, and support one another through the process of change. The group becomes a safe place where old wounds are healed.

How often does the group meet and how long is each meeting? Where?

The group meets weekly for twelve weeks. Each session is approximately ninety minutes. Pathway groups are held at various sites in the greater Dayton area.

What does it cost and can the fee be billed to my insurance company?

The fee for each session is $30. Since this is not a therapy group, insurance companies unfortunately will not pay for it.
